Christmas is fast approaching!!

I have made an effort to start working on some Christmas projects.  My hubby enjoyed Sunday watching rugby and Bathurst so I took the most of the opportunity and spent the day in my craft room.  I just wish I could have more days like it as you all know how relaxing it is to spend time doing what we love.

I found a frame on special at a local shop, it was slightly bigger than 12 x 12 but that was not an issue.  I wanted to do a framed piece of work to put on my wall and found this idea on google images.  If you look closely I spelt the word Jingle, but with the letter J I made it into joy.

I have used the Festival of Prints DSP papers.  This is such an awesome pack of papers, with so much variety of co-ordinating papers.

I just love the new products and I have tried to incorporate a few of these in this project.

Craft Afternoon

I held my regular monthly craft group of Saturday and had a wonderful group of ladies come along.

We worked on four cards. I was really surprised how different they all turned out.  As usual with the classes the instructions given out are all the same but depending on the interpretation of the instructions and different papers used the cards  were so different.

For the first card we used a selection of Designer Series Papers, the smaller tag from the Bigz Dies, Two Tags and the You Mean the World 2 me stamp from the Word Play stamp set.

Some ladies used a black stampin write marker to draw a stitching line and others used a piercing tool and black pen to create stitching.

The next card was designed for a childs card.

We used papers from the Designer Series Papers - Big Top Birthday

The birds were made using the tail from the Bigz Die - Elegant Bird and eyes using the crop a dile and a white gel pen.

The next card was made using Poppy Parade card stock and ink, a flower from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and the flourish from the stamp set Elements of Style.

Both of these cards were made using Poppy Parade ink, but the right hand card had more ink used for inking the flower.  They are both so different.

The final card was from a training day with Jacquline.  She showed us how to create this card using the Bigz Die - Elegant Bird.

This one was a real hit with the ladies, they were quite impressed with the die and how we were able to create 2 quite different cards using the same die.

Well done ladies, it was such a great day.

Sour Cream Containers

Last week was the third week for teaching two
lovely young ladies their new skill.

They have to learn a new skill for their
Duke of Edinburgh's Award and they chose to learn
cardmaking.

I tought them how to make these lovely sour cream container sweet holders, which were
an ideal gift for Mother's Day.

We chose to use the designer series papers - Attic Boutique and Twitterpated.
I showed them how to make the flowers using the simply scored then let them
decide how they wanted to decorate the containers

They did an awesome job and i'm sure they looked too
good to open.

Twitterpated Money Gift Wallet

I appologise for my absense from blogging.  The months seem to be passing by ever too quickly.

I have just been recouperating after an operation and thought I would get lots of crafting done, unfortunately this didn't happen. My energy levels and motivation just seemed to be lacking.
I am now back at work and normal duties and enjoy being back in my craft room

I was recently asked by a friend to help her daughter and a friend out.  The girls are working on their
Duke of Edinburgh Award with their school and are working towards learning a new skill.
They have chosen to learn card making.  They need to spend at least 1 hour each week for the next
3 months learning their new skill.

This week we make a money wallet using the Designer Series Papers, Twitterpated.
The wallets look quite different with the green card  as apposed to the blue.

The girls have done so well with their wallets, they look really neat.
Well done to them both. Great effort.

Happy New Year to you all

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I have had a great time with my family and friends. I dont go back to work until the 9th of January, so it has been an excellent break for my. The first time ever I have had Christmas, New Year off work.

I wanted to show you all some of the wee gifts my girls made for Christmas. We spent an afternoon making homemade chocolates, bagged them up and decorated some lables for them.

The gifts went down well and they sure tasted good.

I am in need of re-stocking my Stampin' Up papers so I made these Christmas items out of my old supplies. I purchased some mini canvases and decorating them using co-ordinating papers and stickers then applied mod podge to seal them.

Over the Christmas period a dear friend of ours lost her brother, so I made this card for her.

I found some lovely papers and attached to the card then layered some butterflies and flowers on. While surfing on the net I found this wonderful verse that seemed to say it all, so I typed it out on co-ordinating paper.
