Nic Howard Canvas Workshop

Yesterday I went to a workshop organised by Rachel Forrester.

The workshop was run by Nic Howard. We decorated a canvas with gesso and tissue paper and layered many colours of distressed inks to achieve our desired effect and spritzed with glimmer mist.

We stamped a variety of stamps and added layers and embellishments to achieve our finished product.
What an awesome class, it is such a pleasure to be able to attend a class run by such an inspirational person. Nic is such a talented lady with a world of knowledge.

Birthdays almost over

Well its been a busy week and the birthdays are still not over!!

My mum had her 70th last week and we had a lovely day with friends and family. It is always great to catch up with everyone and have a lovely day celebrating with people. Mum had a wonderful day and all went well.

This weekend my dad is having a birthday.. Camping is in our blood and mum and dad still head away in the caravan so this card is quite appropriate for him. The caravan stamp is from my pre stamp'n up stash but I have put it with the Loads of love set.

I inked it up with a variety of Stamp'n Up inks and put a little sentiment in the corner punched with our oval punch and oval scallop punch.

I decorated the inside of the card with ink and a grass template, which I cut out of card and stamped some trees and bugs.

I have also been working on little handbags made out of square bottom paper bags.

A really quick and easy gift to make for someone special or for a childs goodie bag.

I bought some 5" paper bags from the stationary shop and cut them down to the desired size and then covered them in assorted card and papers.
Quite effective.

Happy Birthday Mum

My dear mum is celebrating her 70th birthday next week. I made a card for her using the retired Parisian Breeze Designer Paper Series, chocolate chip card stock and chocolate chip ribbon. I have used a stamp from my stamp collection and painted it using a selection of Stamp'n Up inks. I am pleased with the finished result.

I also made a couple of gift box ideas.
I made a basket to put some wee goodies into. This was made from a 6 inch square of cardstock. I found the instructions on Josee Smuck's blog http://josee@stampingio.com. The title was Basket of Goodies. This was a really simple basket to make and a really easy one to make any size you want.
I also made a wee box with acetate slider cover.
All I need to do now is fill these with wee treats for mum and hope she has a wonderful day.
